The theme for this project was to create an "oasis on the beach" for patrons of this lakefront restaurant. From the imported 25' Floridian Palm trees in wooden crates to the more than 30 varieties of heat tolerant exotic annuals and palms, the design solution creates an interesting and fun flow of texture and color
.

The oversized ceramic-glazed pots for this project were hand selected for their blue and aquamarine color to produce an attractive and complimentary foreground to Lake Michigan. The placement of the pots along the front side of the restaurant play an important role as they seem to dance around the space and playfully interact with the visitors to the vicinity. Smaller varieties of the glazed pots planted with herbs are placed throughout the dining area to allow the chef/owner to mingle with patrons while cutting the herbs and preparing their order.

The back side of the restaurant, equally important with the views from the adjacent path, Lake Shore Drive, and the surroundinghigh rise buildings, continues with the tropical theme. Large container boxes complimented by baskets hanging from the wooden trusses are planted with massive displays of palms, Colocasia and a mixture of exotics. Patrons and pedestrians are truly amazed at the super scale of plantings on display.
